I've used this foorum for the pastt 2 and 1/2 years. I've met some great people. I learned about repairing and tunining my bike. I've offered help to several people. Overall, I've enjoyed the opportunity to share experiences.

With that in mind, I can honestly say, I really dislike this new format. I find it difficult to navigate and not nearly as friendly as the previous format. The site has become similar to many of the forum sites but doesn't seem to be nearly as friandly as it ws before.

I appreciate you having the site available. I will continue to visit. I just thought that you deserved some honest feedback. I believe that the new format has hurt the site.

I was looking for a bike to get back on the road. My last street ride was a Honda 750 that I sold in 1974. The Gl650i is so close in size weight and horsepower, I thought it would be purfect but I worried about the age and parts. I found this site and after raeding thread after thread, deceided that I couldn't go wrong. We found a bike in Clarksville TN and drove from Fort Worth Tx to get it the week before Thanksgiving. I rode it 195 miles to Memphis the first day. I love being back in the saddle. Keep the page up and RIDE. Thank You

This forum is incredable.
My greatest concern when I was deciding if I should buy a bike this old, or not was that I would be out here alone to discover all this stuff through trial, error, and much more leg work.
I started out with the bike mostly as a slight hedge against the price of Fuel, but I'm really enjoying my SilverWing. Maybe someday I'll be able to help a comrad rider the way several of you have already helped me
You guys ROCK!

Hi all,

I read through everything that is on the forum almost every day. This is one of my favorite web sites and I am sure most of you have seen that I have posted my share of messages.

Well, there is one message that isn't posted often enough on here and that is a huge "Thank You" to Andrew Jeffcock. Thank you, thank you, and thank you.

I have never seen this web site down. Everything has always worked when I have been here. There seems to be no glitches in how it works. There is no spam here nor is any sent to me because I visit here. All of that smooth operation takes work to happen. That work is truly appreciated by me.

I don't think any of us who use this web site say "Thank You" often enough and I would like to see a few others thank Andrew for a job very well done.

Andrew, thank you.

Shalom,

I just bought an 82 silverwing 2 days ago, 28,000 miles, excellent condition
The only problem I can find is that there is a fairly serious oil leak where the clutch bolts to the transmission on the right side. I tightened the bolts as much as I dare, but it stilll leaks. Is this a common problem? If so what is the fix? My only other bike that I have ever owned or ridden for that matter is a 95 kawasaki klr 650 dualsport. I can't get over the rpm s that this honda turns. I keep thinking there should be a 6th or 7th gear! The engine runs incredibly smooth at that high rpm but how does it not fly into shrapnel? Maybe I am just stuck on my klr "thumper" which turns just over 5,000 rpm at 70 mph. Other than that, I really like this bike and the more I read about the durability and quality the more I like my purchase. By the way, I traded a 500 gallon propane tank and 200 gallons of propane to the previous owner for the bike about an $850 value. Good buy? Any comments would be appreciated.

Thank you for this forum.
I saw my first SilverWing (at our local Honda dealer) on August 16th. Wow, the style, grace and beauty of this little bike got to me. The fact that it was Wineberry as is my GL 1100 GoldWing added to the excitement. That night I found this Web Site through a search engine. My excitement level grew. I shared everything I found out about this bike with my wife. On August 20th, I could not stand it anymore and on my way to work I stopped and purchased it for my wife. A 1982 GL 500 Interstate. She loves it and is becoming quite proficient after a 25 year absence from motorcycles.
I visit this forum everyday of the week. I have learned quite a lot from the postings in the various catagories.
Again, this site is awesome and I look forward to my daily visit.

Hi;
Firstly thanks for maintaining the site. I have only owned my 82 Silverwing for a couple of weeks now and already have gleaned some excellent info from your site. You sure can't beat getting a bunch of people together who have the same interests when you want to learn something.

Also, I have set up a photo album on Sony's Imagestation for people who want to post pictures of their Silverwings or even parts they have for sale. I also have one there for my Honda Rebel and it has been very popular with the Rebel crowd - almost 2000 views now I think..

I was wondering if you could add a link to the Silverwing Album from your main page. That way I am sure more people will find and be able to use it. It is free and all I get out of it is the pleasure of seeing others' bikes. Similar to what you get from this site.
Here is the address.

Thanks again for maintaining this forum
